An alleged runestone is kept at a museum in Minnesota that is offered as proof that the Vikings reached North America long before Columbus. It was allegedly placed in Douglas County by the Vikings in 1362. The Runestone was found in 1898 under the roots of an aspen tree by Olaf Ohman, a local farmer.
