ISRAEL. Jenin Refugee Camp. Occupied West Bank . May 2002. An elderly Mahmud Abu Sbah prays in his partially destroyed home. The wall to his back was completely missing. Shrapnel scarred the floor, ceiling, and walls. Jenin camp is home to 14,000 Palestinian refugees. Israeli military bulldozers completely destroyed 140 homes and partially destroyed many more during the seige which lasted two weeks. Approximately 4000 residents were left homeless and at least 52 Palestinian combatatnts and civilians were killed.
