Chien-Chi Chang
UGANDA. Bulange. April 20, 2007. A mother makes her mark by imprinting her fingerprint in the registry indicating she has received her bed nets. Health workers, ready to hand out bed nets, read from a list of pre-registered famiies indicating the number of children under the age of 5 in each household. 13,600 bed nets were handed out today in 12 different locations. This distribution is part of a nationwide strategy to provide bed nets to pregnant mothers and families with children under the age of 5. By the end of May 580,000 bed nets in total will be handed out throughout the country.
