TANZANIA. Arusha. April 27, 2007. About 15 kilometers outside Arusha, a hi-tech factory is producing the only long-lasting, insecticide treated bed nets to come out of Africa. Sumitomo Chemical in partnership with A to Z has just built a new factory and by the time of their official opening, in October, they plan to produce some 4.2 million nets a year. This with the already existing A to Z factory in Arusha adds up to 8.5 million netsÑa major operation prepared to be the workhorse for covering Africa with malaria fighting nets.
