AFGHANISTAN. Kabul. 2011. Rabia Balkh (GirlÕs) School . Named after first women poet of new Persian poetry who lived 900 years ago in Balkh area of what is now Afghasnistan. School was built in 1964 and although kept closed by the Taliban, had been previously closed by Mujahadeen and used as military barracks. Currently attended by 3000 students.
