MYANMAR. Labutta. February 18, 2010. Villagers fetch fresh water from a pond built by UNICEF, Australian Government and NCV (Noble Compassionate Volunteers, an NGO) Villages near the Mouth of Ayeyarwady in Labutta was one of the most devastated areas hit by Cyclone Nargis in May 2008. After nearly two years later, the life is slowly back to "normal" and the rebuild continues. In Baing Donut Chaung village, before Cyclone Nargis, the population was 2,000 but the disaster killed 800 people from the village.
