MYANMAR. Nay Pyi Taw. October 15, 2009. The junta, ever paranoid, moved the government in 2005 from coastal Yangon to a harder-to-invade spot mid-country. To legitimize the lavish new capital, Nay Pyi Taw, officials built a copy of Yangon's venerated Shwedagon Pagoda.
