CANADA. Ontario. January 2013. Chemical Valley. Sarnia is home of one of Canada’s first nineteenth century oil processing towns and ports. Today, it hosts dozens of petro chemical industries that depend upon mineral extraction. The December 2012- January 2013 blockade of the CN spur line affected many local plants, particularly, Suncor, Nova Chemical, Terra International, and St. Clair Ethanol resulting in the current lawsuit by CN rail against native organizer, Ron Plain.
