Moises Saman
NEPAL. Tila, Rolpa District, Western Nepal. June 2005. Female villagers work carrying rocks on their heads on a strtch of the "Martyr's Road" near the village of Tila. This is the first such construction project being completed in Maoist controlled districts in Nepal. However, most of the labor employed in constructing this road are made of men, women, and children forced to work for free for at least two weeks at a time.
