NEPAL. 2009. Imja Tsho, one of the largest GLOF lakes (Glacial Lake Outburst Floods), situated between Ama Dablam and Lhotse, near Mt Everest. Nonexistent 50 years ago, the lake now measures over a mile long and is 300ft deep. Scientists worry about the unstable rock that is trapping the water bursting, unleashing the water unto the populated valley below.
