Leonard Freed
USA. South Carolina. 1963. Black college. While the majority of blacks remain outside the main stream of American life, slowly, ever-greater numbers are beginning to enter into it. A new generation of educated blacks is taking over the leadership in the black communities.
Professions once closed to all blacks are being forced to accept the competent university-educated black. Middle class America and the middle class neighborhood are no longer a white reserve.
