USA. New York City. United Nations. 2000. Amadou Diallo, a 22-year-old street peddler from Guinea, died February 4 1999 after alledgedly being shot in the vestibule of his Bronx apartment building by four police officers. In March, the officers were each indicted on two counts of second-degree murder as a result of the February shooting. The case was acquitted and all four officers were not charged. On Sunday February 26th, men and women all marched from Park Plaza Hotel, 59th / 5th Avenue to City Hall protesting against the verdict. Every five minutes the protesters would countdown 41 seconds, the amount of bullets the policemen fired at Amadou Diallo.
