SUDAN. Every Friday at the Shrine of Sheikh Hamada El Nile, the faithful perform "Zikr". This is a sufi rite of joyous celebration of God. They dance and some go into a trance. They belong to the Qadiriya Tariqa (Sufi order). 1993.
