G.B. ENGLAND. Winter of Discontent. Pickets from the Transport Worker's Union, TGWU, checking trucks as they come out of Avonmouth Docks in the west of England. This port is a major entry point for animal feed coming to England. The union have allowed a certain percentage of trucks carrying feed grains for livestock to pass through the picket. In this picture union officials check the credentials of one such driver taking animal feed to farmers in the west country. 1979
