In the span of time between the evacuation of the region by the last of the Israeli armed forces, and the entry of the Egyptian police units, Bedouin scavengers from the vicinity pillaged the Synagogue, the only building left standing in the settlement of Yamin that had been occupied by Israelis and were forced to leave following the implementation of the peace agreements between Israel and Egypt.
