the town of Conflans St Honorine, some 70 klms by canal from Paris, is at the crossroads of the Seine and Oise rivers, and was the merchant center of the "batelerie" - inland water transportation system. It is from here that each year a religious procession GRAND PARDON takes place in June, to bless all of those who work on the barges and boats on the inland waterways of France.
