Two " bravades", or religious processions, are held each year in the streets of St. tropez in the south of France. The first of these processions , to honour the patron of Saint Tropez, has been an annual event since the 15th century. On May 15-18 a bust of St. tropez, in gold painted wood, is carried through the city, escorted by a representative of the municipal council and the Bravade brigade.
