Gujarati wedding ceremony in Bombay.The groom and the bride sit facing each other in special chairs as hands are joined and bound and they are also joined by sacred thread looped over both their heads.The ceremony includes giving of money by girl's relatives which is noted in a ledger.The climax of the ceremony is after the couple have shifted chairs to side by side.Then they walk together around the sacred fire, after which they are considered married.The final circuit is with feet tied together, they do 7 rounds, 7 steps, as they will "walk together for life"...
