INDIA. Rajasthan province. The cattle and camel fair which follows the Puskhar fair, just outside the city walls. The Pushkar fair takes place every Fall and gathers tens of thousands of pilgrims from all over India for several days. According to Hinduism the Lord Brahma dropped here a Lotus from his hand while searching for a place to perform yagna. The Pushkar fair represents an opportunity for material gains, while the holy swim provides a step to salvation. 1975.
