March 93. As the towers start to rise, the cable stays are being put into place. It will be necessary to have over 2000 kilometers of cable for 50 kilometers of stays. There will be 184 stays put into operation, hanging from the Towers, each stay containing 81 cables, starting from ground level to the summit (photo 29).One of the great advantages of a cable stayed bridge in comparison to a suspension bridge, is that individually changes can be made to each stay, and if necessary changes can be made to each inner cable. Like in the initial assembly, it will only require 2 or 3 men to make this manoeuver. At the level of the metallic deck of the bridge, temporary dampings being put into poisition from which eventually the cable stays will be put into position and suspended from each of the huge Towers.
