HAITI. Limonade. 2000. Voodoo pilgrims pay hommage to Saint Philomene, with
offerings of herbs and by singing : " I was in your home, and I come back to your home ", a longing nostalgia for Africa where their ancestors were brought from as slaves.
The magic of voodoo is very much alive in Haiti today, five centuries after it was introduced by the slaves, and 200 years after it helped african tribes unite against the French colonists in their fight for independence.
This cult, dedicated to the spirits of nature as well as those of the ancestors, houses many rituals.
