ITALY. Rome. 2000. Stairs of the Vatican Museums. Spiral staricase in the Vatican Museums.
The Museum was founded in 1503 by Pope Julius II and contains some of the most renowned art work in the world, such as Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel, Rafael's Stanze, Fra Angelico's Chapel of Nicholas V, Egyptian and Roman art works.
This staircase was designed by Giuseppe Momo in 1932. It consists of two intertwined spirals: one leading up and the other leading down.
