CHINA. Shanghai. 1949. September. After their departure, the nationalits imposed a maritime blockade in Shangai. After 5 months of blockade, an American boat reached the port and took the foreigners who wished to leave the city. Septembre. Since July 1946, China has been torn apart by civil war between the Communist forces of MAO TSE-TUNG and the Nationalist forces (Kuomintang) of General TCHANG KAI CHEK. Slowly the Communist gained terrain and take the controll of Shanghai the 27th of May.
