The transit camp at Agartala airport. Refugees lined up for cooked food (if kept in transit camp more than 6 hours, they are given cooked food). Food supplies is hard to reach Tripura, which has now 1.1 million refugees versus the normal population of 1.5 million. The US airlift brought in 200 tons a day towards the daily need of 600 tons a day was stopped on the 18th July 1971, subtituted by an Indian airforce lift with a capacity of only 10 tons a day.
