SPAIN. Prior to the tuna fishing in the Golf of Gascogne, the fishermen go out to catch bait (sardines, sprats, anchovies). This task is done around the lighthouse of Cordouan in the estuary of the Gironde river.The catch is carefully unloaded in order not to crush or damage the bait which will be kept for several weeks in the hold of the tuna fishing vessel. 1996.
