An estimated 1 million people showed their last respect to Melina MERCOURI as her coffin on a gun carriage and draped in the Greek national flag was pulled through the city and followed by a cortege of friends and relatives.On its way to the cemetery it passed through Amalia street the central artery, and stopped at Syntagma Square in front of the Parliament Building as homage to Greece's former Minister of Culture.
