HONG KONG. September 1949. The Chinese traders newspaper of Hong Kong published a special edition with two new announcements. All of southern China was from then on under the control of the People's Army. A consultive political assembly gathered in Beijing to give a new constitution to four hundred and fifty million Chinese.
