Near Fribourg. ALLILUYEVA Svetlana (URSS) - STALINE' s daughter.
Emmanuel D'Astier de la Vigerie, a French writer and politician, who founded in 1941 the French resistence movement Liberation-Sud , and was a war hero and friend of General De Gaulle, had assisted Stalin's daughter Svetana Alliluyeva in her asylum in Switzerland.Svetlana, the
daughter of Nadiedja Alliloueva (Stalin's second wife who commited suicide at the age of 35) was married to an Indian communist Brajesh Singh.He died in 1966 and Svetlana was allowed a month visa to bring his ashes from Moscow to India for disposal in his village near the Ganges.After much difficulty with Moscow,and the Russian Embassy in Delhi, she took assylum in the American Embassy in Delhi on the 6th March 1967 and fled on a Quantas flight via Rome to Switzerland. She left on the 8th May 1967 for New York, where she finally took up residence.
