Hiroji Kubota
INDIA. Mumbai (Bombay). 1999. During the morning rush hour, trains arriving at the Victoria Terminus every five minutes or so from the suburbs of Mumbai are so crowded that passengers hang from their sides. It was also surprising to see the commuters-mostly men, but also some women-squatting to relieve themselves, without great concern, on the side of the tracks even when trains were passing.
