Marilyn Silverstone
Monument to Sir Henry Morton STANLEY (1841-1904) the British explorer and journalist who in 1869 was told to find 'Livingstone" in Africa.In 1871 he left Zanzibar for Tanganyika and encountered Livingstone at Ujiji.In later expeditions he explored Lake Tanganyika, traced the Congo river to the sea, and founded the Congo Free State.His statue is seen here overlooking the Congo Pool near Leopoldville.
