Trucks come with water, and families get 2 buckets of water every 24 hours, but they never know exactly what time and where the truck will come. SEWA (Self Employment Women's Association), founded as a trade union by Ela Bhatt, in 1972. SEWA follows the Gandhian philosophy of non-violence and self-reliance. It builds up solidarity amongst women workers and is both an institution and a movement of economic change.
