Kaliningrad region. Town of Svetlogorsk, formerly called Rauschen.

Kaliningrad region was till the end of the World War II, part of Eastern Prussia (integral part of the German state) and its population was mostly German. But in 1945, German frontiers were redrawn, Eastern Prussia was divided between Poland and Russia and the majority of the German population was deported. In the late 1980s, some thousands of ethnic Germans from other parts of the USSR returned and today they still live here.
