JAPAN. Kesennuma. January 19th, 2012. The big boat with a red and blue hull, "the Kyotoku Maru No 18" (total tonnage: 330 tons, entire length: 60 meters), looms over a landscape of homes and business splintered by the March 11th tsunami. Since 10 months, life goes on around him again. This boat became an emblem of the évent. In June 2011, Kesennuma City government made a proposal to preserve the big ship and to establish a public park around it.
