PAKISTAN. As of the 31st of march 2006 the Pakistani authorities have ordered that the refugee camps be closed and that the population return to their native villages. Unfortunately for the most part they have nothing to return to. Muzzafarabad, Pakistan Apr. 2006
On oct 8th 2005 a devastating earthquake hit the northern part of Pakistan. With the death toll around ninety thousand and the casualties in the hundreds of thousand it is a catastrophe never before seen in this region. Currently 3 million people are still homeless.
