FRANCE. Paris. Sunday 26th February 2006 an estimated 200,000 people demonstrated in Paris in memory of Ilan HALIMI and against racist and anti-semitic acts. Halimi died after being kidnapped and tortured by a gang in the Essone region near to the capital. The investigating judge in charge of the case has accused the perpetrators of having an anti-semitic motivation to their crimes. Halimi who worked as a cell phone saleman was captured after being lured by an attractive woman who arranged a date with him after meeting him at his place of work.
