SRI LANKA. UDAPUWA village in PUTTALAM district. Hindus celebrate the ATIVILA yearly festival. Outside the main PARTHASARATHA temple men, naked to the waist, use long poles to flatten the coal into ambers which will be used for fire-walking. Because of the intense heath, they are constantly doused with water.
