Serbs in Kosovo Polje, close to Pristina, and surrounding settlements were also left isolated after the war. But the restoration of the railway line from Kosovo Polje to Serbian-inhabited land in northern Kosovo, including Zvecan, meant that they could travel there, in a KFOR ( NATO Kosovo Force) protected train, across hostaile Albanians territoy.
