Magnum Photographers 

On May 14, 1948, David Ben-Gurion, the head of the Jewish Agency declared the Establishment of the State of Israel in Tel Aviv Museum in the presence of representatives of Zionist movements. Considered as a provocation by the 1.2 million Arabs in the territory by then, four Arab countries invade different part of the new State - Egypt, Syria, Transjordan and Iraq- the next day, launching the 1948 Israeli-Arab War. The State is based on « The Law of Return » (passed on July 5, 1950) which allows every person with Jewish ancestry in the world to set up in Israel. After the Shoah, an estimated 300.000...
