AZERBAIJAN, Astara. 2018. Girls pose after their school in Kakalos village. Kakalos is a modern village, girls are able to go to school. But out of this town, in more isolated villages, the education system, inherited from the Soviet era, is obsolete and ill-equipped to prepare youth for the society of today.
Azerbaijan still suffers from too many traditions that often undermine education, especially that of young girls.

Some girls are so depressed with the education they receive, that they prefer getting married and give up the school.
