ISRAEL. Al-Arakib, Negev Desert. November 26, 2016. 13-year-old Hakim Abu-Freih stands on top of what used to be the main water well in the Bedouin village of Al-Arakib in what is now southern Israel. The unrecognized village was demolished by the Israeli government in their effort to confiscate non-Jewish land in the Negev Desert and transform the desert into a forest of trees planted by the Jewish National Fund.
